MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) er kerfi þróað af sérfræðingum og er ætlað að draga úr snúningskrafti sem höfuðið getur orðið fyrir. MIPS er í raun þunnt núningslag inni í hjálminum sem hreyfist um 10-15 mm í margar áttir við snúningshögg til að draga úr orku til og frá höfðinu. MIPS hjálmur lítur út nánast eins og aðrir hjálmar, nema þegar horft er inní hann þá sést gult fóður undir púðunum. Að utan eru MIPS hjálmar frá ABUS merktir með litlu gulu MIPS merki.
